Lexvisa have received the excellent news that their client, a Jordanian national currently residing in Saudi Arabia, has been granted a 6-month visa to enter the UK for Private Medical Treatment.
The client had initially applied for the visa without legal assistance in November 2020 – that application was refused due to a lack of information in relation to the actual treatment itself, and secondly the lack of evidence in relation to the strength of the client’s connections to their home country.
The Entry Clearance Office was not satisfied that the client was a genuine visitor.
How did Lexvisa assist?
An application for a visit visa which is refused does not attract a right of appeal; the only remedy is by way of Judicial Review, which in itself is a lengthy process.
Therefore, it was imperative that the correct evidence was ready and in the specified format, so that there would be no issues and the client would be able to travel to have their treatment.
The case was managed by our Head of Department, Khurshid Ali who took on full responsibility to ensure all the evidence was ready and in the specified format. Khurshid took the following key steps to ensure a successful outcome:
- Liaised with the hospital consultant to ensure their letter was in the specified format; i.e. to include details of the medical condition, the likely costs to be incurred, the duration of treatment and where the consultation will take place.
- Liaised with the client’s employer to ensure a detailed employer letter was provided and that the employer explained why the client’s salary from their employment varied from month to month – to take into account holiday pay and other allowances.
Based on the evidence collected, a detailed covering letter was prepared setting out how the evidential requirements of the Private Medical Treatment Visa were met, and crucially that the client would be a genuine visitor in light of very strong economic and personal ties to their country of origin.
The application was approved within one week of submission as the client had chosen the priority visa service.
