Our client is a Canadian national who had initially entered the UK on a Tier 4 Student visa to study English Language and Literature. After completing her three year course and undertaking a couple of internships, she returned to Canada before the expiry of her Tier 4 Student visa.Â

High Volume of Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visas Granted
According to the Home Office’s statistics, in the year ending June 2014 the number of work-related visas increased by 14,799. A high volume of this figure was accounted for by Youth mobility and temporary workers under the Tier 5 visa category.
The Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme is for young people aged between 18 to 31 years old, who are eager to experience living in the UK for up to two years. For the duration of these 2 years there are no restrictions on working, however you may not set up your own business, work in professional sports or work as a trainee doctor.
Every year the government allocates a number of places on the scheme for each country and territory. The countries currently participating in the scheme are listed in Appendix G of the Immigration Rules.
