What is a Sole Representative Visa?
A Sole Representative Visa allows overseas businesses who are registered outside the European Economic Area to set up a part of their business in the UK. To apply for a Sole Representative visa you must apply from outside the EEA and be able to demonstrate you meet the requirements. The important point to consider is that you will only be granted a Sole Representative if you can demonstrate that you have been recruited and employed outside the UK by a business who has registered that their principal place of business is outside the UK.
In addition to the above, you must also demonstrate that you hold a senior position within the business and have the capacity to make decisions on its behalf. You will be granted Leave to Remain under a Sole Representative Visa as an Overseas Media Employee if you meet the following requirements. You must have initially entered the UK as a Sole Representative of an overseas business and must have worked for the same employer who you were granted Entry Clearance to work for in the UK. You will continue to demonstrate that you can maintain and accommodate yourself (and your dependents if applicable).
In addition to the above, you must also show that the employer still requires your assistance and this must be certified by the employer in a letter. Applicants must also demonstrate that they have received a salary; this can be done by providing bank statements and payslips which correspond.
Application for Leave to Remain under the Sole Representative Visa (Sole Representative)
You will be granted Leave to Remain under a Sole Representative Visa as a Sole Representative if you meet the following requirements. Similarly like Overseas Media Employee’s you must have initially entered the UK as a Sole Representative of an overseas business and must have worked for the same employer who you were granted Entry Clearance to work for in the UK. You will continue to demonstrate that you can maintain and accommodate yourself (and your dependents if applicable).
To be granted Leave to Remain you must provide evidence that you will be continuing as a senior employee with the capacity to make operational decisions. You should also be able to prove that the overseas business still has its headquarters and principal place of business outside the UK.
