As of 1 July 2013, Croatian nationals became a member of the European Union which meant that they no longer needed permission under the UK’s Immigration Rules to reside in the UK. Croatian nationals have a right of residence in the UK for the first 3 months on an unrestricted basis after which they may qualify for a blue, yellow or purple registration certificate.
Our expert immigration team regularly consult with EEA nationals (Croatian nationals) and have the relevant expertise to consider your options of applying for a suitable certificate so you can reside in the UK for more than 3 months. Through our extensive experience, we are familiar with the application process and the documents an applicant is required to produce to demonstrate that they meet the requirements for this visa.
Blue Registration Certificates
A Blue Registration Certificate demonstrates that you are allowed to work freely in the UK and you do not need to show your employer any other or additional certificates to prove this.
Yellow Registration Certificates
Yellow Registration certificates are issued to Croatian nationals who are exercising their Treaty rights as self-employed persons, self-sufficient persons or students. The Yellow Registration Certificate will state whether the holder is self-employed, self-sufficient or a student and explain if you can legally work in the UK. If you are a Croatian national studying in the UK and you wish to work whilst studying, you must apply for a Yellow Registration Certificate.
Purple Registration Certificates
Purple Registration Certificates are issued to Croatian nationals who wish to work in the UK but are subject to work authorisation. You must be sponsored by an employer who will give you a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) number which is required at the time you apply for a Purple Registration Certificate.
